Our group exhibition Rooting Elsewhere at True Colour Gallery in North Vancouver, B.C., 2025.

For this exhibition, I created four new works specifically for the show.

Born in different parts of the world, the four artists in this exhibition have each found a way to root ourselves here in Canada.

I began with the image of the sea — the vast space between shores, yet also the element that connects them. It carries traces of distant places, memories, and stories, moving quietly between where we once belonged and where we are now.

These paintings grew from that sense of connection: the feeling of carrying a part of somewhere else with us, while slowly becoming rooted in a new place.
